Mental Health Treatment

At Prime Counseling Services, our therapists are trained to treat anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, life changes, substance use, mood disorders, parenting, self-esteem, stress, suicidal ideations, grief and loss, coping skills, anger management, family conflict, LGBTQ+, insomnia, divorce, and relationship issues.

We accept individuals 6 and up. Additionally, some therapists have specialized training to work with couples.

Mental Health Treatment

We are able to meet our clients' needs by offering Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) informed, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), solution focused, strengths based, and mindfulness treatment styles. While a lot of therapists use concepts from each of these modalities, some have more specialized training. Send us an e-mail or give us a call to see what therapist will meet your needs.

Need Help paying for therapy?

Struggling with focus, organization, impulsivity, or feeling overwhelmed by everyday tasks? We offer comprehensive ADHD evaluations for ages 5 and up (must have started Kindergarten). Our assessment process includes clinical interviews, standardized screening tools, and a careful review of symptoms and history. Clients receive clear feedback, diagnostic clarification when appropriate, and personalized recommendations. Currently only offered in-person at our Trenton location or virtually across Michigan.

ADHD testing is not covered by insurance.

Need Help paying for therapy?

In 2023, our foundation, Prime Trauma Foundation, began offering free and low-cost community events and activities. Their mission is to educate and support mental health providers and the community to eliminate the stigma and shame around trauma in order to address the public health crisis.

Clinical Supervision

We provide individual clinical supervision to limited license social workers and counselors. Something we hear often, is that new clinicians feel like they do not know what to do with their clients. We provide concrete solutions and actions steps to raise your confidence when working with your clients. We also take time to be reflective because that impacts the work we do!
