Hello there, Salina speaking. I am 32 years young, however surface does not always reflect one’s life experiences or gained wisdom to help guide others through similar and relatable circumstances. Pertaining to career longevity, I can safely say that I have been a social worker my whole life. I was born with an innate desire to service others, provide a sense of protection as well as an abundance of empathy. I believe people wish to be heard and that all our actions reflect bits and pieces of our story. What even are stories really, if there is nobody to tell them to? If you are shy to open-up and observant before all else, just know as a therapist, I have always heard or witnessed something considered “worse”.
I incorporate a sense of humor into my techniques to make light of things. I have a diverse mixing pot background and can mesh well with a large variety of age groups and genders, ranging from k-12 as well as adults. I provide a sense of feeling at home, I am that voice of reason and the shoulder to lean on during the times you feel unable to stand. During the times you can’t stand, I will help you begin to start crawling. My motto is that art, music, communication, being active and TLC make the best recipe.
I am heartfelt regarding trauma informed care, abuse, women’s issues, grief, addiction and codependency. As a social worker, I have traveled to numerous settings such as the Department of Health and Human Services, community out-patient psychiatric, in-patient crisis psychiatric and schools. As previously stated in other words, I have been around this rapidly spinning place we call the world. On that note, I’m aware a name is just a name until meaning is added to it. Again, I am Salina Soto LMSW and hopefully I can hold a meaningful spot in your journey called life.
