April is sexual assault awareness month and we wanted to hold a special event to highlight the journey a person takes to move from victim to survivor. Creative outlets are a great way to heal, so we decided to turn our waiting room into an art exhibit.
We invite any survivor of sexual assault to create art, showcasing their journey from victim to survivor. All art must be reviewed before March 17, 2023, and can be submitted below for review. We will have an art showcase on April 15, 2023.
All April long, we invite community members to stop by our office anytime between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to view the art. During that time, we will have free resources available.
At the bottom of this page, see our FAQs.
On Saturday, April 15, 2023, we will have an open house from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This event is FREE and open to everyone. We will be serving light refreshments.
At the event, Move on the Mend will be there to sell their jewelry made with recycled and repurposed products by survivors.
First Step will be at the showcase and will be providing free resources for survivors and their families all month long.
We will have free arts and crafts for kids.
You will be able to view the powerful art, tour the office, meet some of the team, and eat some yummy snacks. See our Facebook event page for more details and up-to-date information.
A silent auction will be held during the showcase, with 100% of the proceeds being donated.
100% of donations will be given to community agencies that provide free or low-cost services to survivors of sexual abuse and to provide continuing education for therapists in evidenced based practices for trauma informed care.
Prime Counseling Services will be matching all donations up to $1000.00.
Please note that we do not hold tax exempt status.
Please reach us at emilylafave@outlook.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
