This event is sponsored by Prime Trauma Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation dedicated to supporting survivors and educating the community on the impacts of trauma.
April is sexual assault awareness month and we wanted to hold a special event to highlight the journey a person takes to move from victim to survivor. Creative outlets are a great way to heal, so we decided to turn our waiting room into an art exhibit.
We invite any survivor of sexual assault to create art, showcasing their journey from victim to survivor. All art must be reviewed before March 1, 2024, and can be submitted below for review. All art must be dropped off to the Plymouth office by March 13, 2024, in order to be displayed. We will have an art showcase on April 27, 2024.
All April long, we invite community members to stop by our office anytime between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to view the art. During that time, we will have free resources available.
At the bottom of this page, see our FAQs.
On Saturday, April 27, 2024, we will have an open house from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This event is FREE and open to everyone. We will be serving light refreshments, 50/50 raffle, survivor stories, structured arts and crafts for folks of all ages, and a silent auction. The silent auction will begin April 1, 2024 and will end at 4:45 PM on April 27th.
At the event, Mend on the Move will be there to sell their jewelry made with recycled and repurposed products made by survivors.
First Step and Prime Counseling Services will be at the showcase and will be providing free resources for survivors and their families all month long.
Kona Ice will be in the parking lot serving shaved ice.
Jessica Nealey, a licensed massage therapist, will be providing free massages. Also, Leah and Justin from Just in Love will be providing free energy healings.
Arts and craft kits for kids and adults can contribute to our community art piece.
You will be able to view the powerful art, tour the office, meet some of the team, and eat some yummy snacks. Follow our Facebook event page for up-to-date information about the event.
All the bidding will be done online, and you do not have to attend the event to bid. Bidding ends at 4:45 PM on 4/27/24. You just have to pick up your art by 5/4/24, or it will go to the next highest bidder. You have the option to pay online with credit card, cash, check, or PayPal.
Our silent auction is open with over 35 items to bid on. Our featured items include art created by survivors, family bundles, night out in Ann Arbor, a 2-night stay in northern, MI, Piston's Tickets, designer bag, autographed books, a football signed by the new U of M head coach, and more.
